Petrified Logs and Limbs
      Polished.

These collector pieces are choice specimens of petrfied wood (and related lapidary specimens) from some of the best locations in the Pacific Northwest and around the world. Petrified logs and limbs are beautiful, natural treasures presented as they were found in the earth with one face cut and polished to a mirror finish to reveal the stunning wood grain and other fine details that will make them both scientific as well as gem collector pieces. Logs and limbs provide wonderful representations of these ancient trees, but also demand a higher premium than cross section plates (rounds) because of the amount of raw material required to produce a single specimen. Top grade specimens may have knots, insect borings or even some bark left on the outside. The specimens shown below represent some of our finest pieces. Absolutely amazing fossilized tree trunk from Wyoming's famed Eden Valley. This is a petrified laurel tree, something not commonly found in this deposit. Structure is visible but agatization is not as high as some logs in this area (duller polish). Wonderful exterior texture shows bark impression! 5 3/4" across the face, 6 3/8" long. 8.68 lbs. - PRICE:$75

Unknown, exotic grained hardwood with exceptional agate. A real 'must see' specimen! Zimmerman Ranch, McDermitt, Oregon. 7 1/4" long, 3 1/4" diameter. 4 lbs. - PRICE:$89

Highly agatized, perfectly preserved and amazingly detailed petrified log from Blue Forest, Wyoming, petrified pepper tree. Photos aren't great, but the log is one of our best. The star patterned wood grain has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated as does the botryoidal agate husk. 5 7/8" long, 4 1/4" x 4" diameter. 8.14 lbs. - PRICE:$139

One of the single best petrified sycamore sources in the world comes from near Post, Oregon. This beautiful short limb shows both the amazing rayed wood grain and the packed rice grain like structure of the cambium layer (under the bark). Articulated end shows really nice weathering pattern. 2" in diameter and about 1" long. Weight is 0.28 lbs. - PRICE:$24 - SOLD

Very large (uncommonly so) pink agate petrified log cast from Paulina, Oregon. This one formed a massive geode cavity lined with finely pointed quartz crystals inside - a true show piece!
